„I always want to do everything perfectly!"

I have heard this sentence several times from people around me. I think you've also said that before.

But do you want that? And what exactly is perfection?
- The absence of mistakes? That you can't improve anymore?

Then I don't want to be perfect at all, because then there is no more progress.

So today's question is: Perfection or consistent excellence: Which standard do you exemplify?

Diesen Satz hörte ich schon öfter von Menschen in meinen Umwelt. Sicher hast Du diese Aussage auch schonmal gemacht.

Aber willst Du das wirklich? Und was ist eigentlich Perfektion?
– Die Abwesenheit von Fehlern? Sich nicht mehr verbessern können?

Wenn das so ist, dann will ich gar nicht perfekt sein, denn dann gibt es ja keinen Fortschritt mehr.

Und passend zu diesem Thema widmen wir uns heute der Frage: Perfektion oder konsistente Exzellenz: Welchen Standard lebst Du vor?

„How do I develop my leadership team from strong functional experts and followers to strong cross-functional leaders?”

This question or a very close version of it is the most frequent request my company received in the last 6 months. But why do so many CEOs, C-Levels, and team leaders choose to invest in strengthening their Leadership Teams right now?

Probably the need to change, the pace of change, and the opportunity to change successfully have never been as big as right now. And one common them across successful teams is that successful teams change.

But how do you do conquer your fear? I'll tell you...

Yesterday a CEO asked me "How do I get off this hamster wheel? We are overtaking ourselves in our transformation. We changed our system and couldn't invoice for 3 months. And I never really learned good leadership, I lead by instinct and I always feel a bit insecure. How do I get out of this constant fire-fighting mode?"

This insecurity is completely understandable and one possible approach is courage!
